MSCONFIG 8 processor option

I would like to know if my Windows 7 Sony VAIO Laptop PCG 81114L would speed up if I went to msconfig and under advanced options put the number of processors at 8.

Boot times may speed up. I always recommend doing this. It doesn't hurt anything and you'll boot in faster (usually). However, for normal use it won't speed anything up beyond what the processor normally runs anyway.

It means you have a quadcore with hyperthreading (aka, additional faux cores). Don't worry about it, just stick with what I said above.
