So here's the thing,I want to do a PC upgrade but am tight on budget.I want a card that can run most games maxed out(i.e Battlefield 3,Crysis 2,Metro 2033,Witcher 2...) though AA and AF doesn't really matter, just want to turn all that eye candy on and have a good experience, though my monitor doesn't support resolutions higher than 1280x1024.If there's a cheap monitor and a good card that can run games maxed out on 1600x1200 or 1080p that would be good to know but no a primary goal at the moment.Plus I need a good CPU that wouldn't bottleneck the card. Any suggestions?
Specs are as follows:
1 Kingston 2GB RAM
Nvidia 9500GT
Acer AL1717
Core 2 Duo 2.93 GHz
500 GB HDD
D946GZIS motherboard(maybe I need to upgrade that to support dual slot cards,I don't really know)

Hello... well budget is everything... Most professional-Online gamers dont MAX OUT everything in Video details... to get faster reaction time.

To get to 1080p with your current system parts will take GTX460/560 and an 1080P monitor... and you will get high Details... around $300?

@ OP
Any high end GPU (HD 6950/70, GTX 570/560Ti) will max out some games @ 1080P.
For gaming at 1024x resoolution, a HD 6850/ GTX 460 will be overkill.

For the CPU thing, if your MOBO supports a quad core CPU upgrade to a used Intel Core2Quad 2.8 GHz or above
