Asus ROG Maximus V Formula EZ FLASH2 questions?

I have the Asus ROG Maximus V Formula motherboard (which I like very much). Recently a Bios update was recommended by Asus using EZ Flash 2. My question is about this procedure. First of all, I read somewhere that I should use USB 2.0 (NOT USB 3.0) for the reason that EZ Flash 2 takes place before USB 3.0 is initiated. I have also read many times to use FAT32.

Therefore, should I limit my flash drive to only FAT32 USB 2.0 drives, or would a faster FAT32 USB 3.0 Flash Drive work? I ask because I will have to purchase a new flash drive either way? A USB 3.0 Flash Drive would be a better option if it will work. I have read that EZ Flash 2 can be problematic.

  1. Don't matter USB2.0 or USB3.0, just download the BIOS to the USB, then do the update BIOS from the USB and don't use the EZ flash 2. Sometime the EZ flash will cause problem.
