So here's the thing,I want to do a PC upgrade but am tight on budget.I want a card that can run most games maxed out(i.e Battlefield 3,Crysis 2,Metro 2033,Witcher 2...) though AA and AF doesn't really matter, just want to turn all that eye candy on and have a good experience, though my monitor doesn't support resolutions higher than 1280x1024.If there's a cheap monitor and a good card that can run games maxed out on 1600x1200 or 1080p that would be good to know but no a primary goal at the moment.Plus I need a good CPU that wouldn't bottleneck the card Any suggestions?
Specs are as follows:
1 Kingston 2GB RAM
Nvidia 9500GT
Acer AL1717
Core 2 Duo 2.93 GHz
500 GB HDD
D946GZIS motherboard(maybe I need to upgrade that to support dual slot cards,I don't really know)

Well it depends on the budget. For instance, something like a Radeon 5770 at about $100 and a new monitor at about $120, you're looking at over $200. At that point you might also want to upgrade the RAM, it will prove to be a very noticeable upgrade.

Since you are on a tight budget save up. Your CPU is meh and needs upgrading if you want a high-end GPU. RAM for your current system is expensive. At those resolution, you'll be seeing low FPS with a budget card and a med CPU. Get at least $400 to $500 and then decide upgrading.

For 1024x1024, a single GTS250 or HD4850, is more than enough to run most of games with decent setting (even maxed out). You've said you on a tight budget, right, so get a cheap GTS250 or HD4850 from eBay. Make sure you have enough power from PSU. 500W is an okay and one 6pin power connector. :)

Also, get a 2nd stick of RAM (so 4GB total), that should help a bit.

Every time I clicked "ask the community" and posted my question I got "Site is temporarily unavailable" and never realised I was posting the same thread over and over again,so moderator could you please delete all the others except for this one? As for the question my PSU is a 450W Smarti one, budget for card is around 200$ but can spend a max of 500$,1024x1024 is a low resolution everything gets blurry, and I know the games are demanding,I want to max out,or atleast get over 30 FPS on optimal setting.
Edit: Can my motherboard support a dual slot card or what?
