Hy everyone!

When these units came up earlier this year there was a lot of talking about it over the web, but I just came to realize one thing: There are 3 different specs for the Xeon E5-1650.

Intel's product brief (which has been replicated by server companies) says 15MB L3:

http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/docum...

Intel Ark says 10MB:

http://ark.intel.com/products/64601/Intel-Xeon-Processo...(10M-Cache-3_20-GHz-0_0-GTs-Intel-QPI)

Everyone else says 12MB:

http://www.cpu-world.com/news_2011/2011091901_Prices_of...

http://www.sabrepc.com/p-2807-intel-cm8062101102002-xeo...

Every reseller I've seem claims to be 12MB as well.

So, is Intel mistaken once or twice about their own product? :sol:

Thanks!

No, the material from Intel is a pre-production spec sheet. The actual specs are with the resellers. You have to understand that the pre-production materials are subject to the fine print: "Intel may make changes to specifications and product descriptions at any time, without notice." (Quoted from the fine print on the pdf you reference).
