I have a Linksys WRT54G wireless router and also a Linksys Wireless Bridge which is currently connected to my wife's PC. Her computer has no connection unless I enable DMZ. The DMZ is forwarded to the routers default ip. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling/reconfiguring the Linksys Bridge but nothing has changed. I have done several securiy tests online that scan for open ports, etc. and everything seems fine. Should I be worried about having DMZ enabled? Any ideas as to why the connection is lost on the bridge when DMZ is Disabled? BTW, I'm writing this on my laptop, so i know that the wifi signal is working properly, although I haven't tried my laptop with DMZ Disabled. This has been really confusing to say the least. I don't mind doing some reading if anyone could recommend some tutorials and that.
A bridge seperates a network to reduce traffic. You might want a Linksys Access Point.
Not familiar with the bridge but you might want to have it point/forward to your router for internet access..
heh, you might even need to setup a proxy on her PC to tell it to look for the router's IP.. IE has a proxy setting in Internet Options.
Is the Bridge connected wirelessly or by a wire? If it's by a wire, I don't think you should have a problem as long as the bridge has a gateway entered in it (linksys router)
