DSL help please!!!

So, my current internet provider is giving me extremely high pings when i try to play online games. they range anywhere from 100 to up to 350. i had a technician come in today and basically told me that there was nothing he could do to reduce my high ping. he suggested that it might be due to the isp's connection to my apartment building. he told me that it's a wireless connection and wasn't an actual line. He suggested that i try qwest internet because they are connected directly to my apartment building, and not via a wireless connection like my current provider. Do you think i would see a big improvement by switching to qwest?

(fyi) I'm connection via my phone line so i have DSL and not cable internet.

test your speed on www.speedtest.net and write down your Ping, upload and download speed.

the speed is good I am not sure if Quest will be able to provide you with the same speed; however, their ping rate should be better.

do you know anybody in your area that has Quest that could test the connection?
