Alright so I have an Asus 6950, have 2 dvi slots, and 4 displayport. Do the displayport to dvi adapters alter performance? And if so, how much? And what's the best adapter to use?

Displayport to DVI adapters do not alter performance. Get an active adapter, such as these:

The signal is digital thru both outputs. An active adapter will also allow Eyefinity to be utilized, if desired.
With an adapter(s), that card will allow multiple display configuration options for your system.
