Hello,
I am looking to upgrade my CPU and MB this has been a gradual pc build and am currently looking to rid of the old CPU and MB. System specs are currently
windows 7 home premium 64 bit
2.60 gigahertz Intel Pentium Dual-Core (looking to upgrade)
GFX card Saphire Radeon 6850 1gb DDR5 (new)
motherboard crap MB from vostro 220s (need upgrade)
PSU 680W Apevia

i was looking at a i5 2500k but dont know what motherboard to get with it. also im only looking to spend about 250$ (less if possible) for a combined price. im looking to run newer games at a solid FPS.

Well, the 2500K's at least $180 (~$220 everywhere but Microcenter), so $250 isn't gonna happen.
An i3-2100 would do it, but it wouldn't leave you much room for a better GPU in the future. The 2500K would hold you through your next graphics card easily, but with a mobo it'll run around $350.
