Ipx vs tcp ip

Hello,

We all know that session layer of osi model makes connections b/w 2 nodes over the internet before actually starting communication.And TCP at layer 4 also builds connection before actually starting communication b/w the nodes...

Can you tell me what is the difference b/w the connections which are formed at session layer and the connections which are made by TCP at layer 4 b/w the Nodes.

My understanding is that Layer5 is handled by the OS and Layer4 is the last layer to be managed by the network.

Routers can only have routing rules that go as far as Layer4 without using DPI.
