Want to upgrade Motherboard

I am thinking of upgrading my motherboard and am wondering what would be some of my best options. Thanks in advance. Here is what my current system is running:
Motherboard: ASROCK N68-VS3 FX
Processor: AMD FX-8120 3.1GHz
Ram: 8GB DDR3 1333
Graphics Card: GTX 460
PSU: 850W

Get an asrock 970 extreme 4, or an Asus M5A97 R2.0 board.

Are those better options/better bang for the buck than the MSI 990FXA-GD80V2?

Well, those are cheap and good 970 boards, there's also the gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 if you want a board with the 990FX chipset.
