Approximate Purchase Date: asap. before the end of christmas break (december 23rd >>> january 9th)

Budget Range: around $1200

System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming (skyrim, witcher 2, dota 2, guild wars 2, far cry 3 and some other upcoming games like far cry 3, oldeer games like far cry 2 and others . . . .), movies, surfing the internet

Parts Not Required: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.ca

Country: Canada (ontario)

Parts Preferences: i am kind of favouring intel and nvidia right now, but im open minded and open to any suggestions to get the most bang for my buck. also if i could get similar performance from amd/radeon for less money, i would be glad to see those options

Overclocking: Maybe (more inclined to the "no" answer)

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe

Monitor Resolution: 1680x1050

Additional Comments: dont want a fancy case. should be quiet and discrete. also PSU should be quiet as well

RAM: wondering what the difference would be between the two types of gskill ripjaws. one is "designed for p67" motherboard and the other is not ?

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL Designed for Intel P67 motherboard

MOTHERBOARD: really need help choosing this component
here are a couple mobos i was looking at
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Produ [...] =BESTMATCH

and these ones are the ones that i was really considering

ASRock P67 EXTREME4 GEN3 LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Produ [...] 6813157265

ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Produ [...] 6813131792

PSU: this is another component i need serious help choosing. i want a PSU that can support SLI in the future(maybe) so it should be around 750 watts i think. also i dont want to go all out on this part so was hoping to spend less than $100 on this

here are some that i thought were good
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Produ [...] -%20%24100

this is the one that i considered the most
hec Zephyr MX 750 750W Peak Output ATX12V V2.3 / EPS12V V2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Produ [...] 6817339002

GPU: also need some help on this. i was really leaning towards the gtx 560ti 448 cores, but i might not be able to sli in the future (if i need to). was considering 6950 1/2gb or just gtx560ti regular core version.

here is the one i was thinking about the most
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit...

my 1st choice from these would be the evga classified due to its higher clocks (looked at benchmarks and it clearly won even above 69702gb and 570 most times)

For your location, I would recommend ncix.com as another place to order parts.

The boxing week sale is still on, but many good deals have sold, still worth a look
http://ncix.com/promo/promosale.php?webid=BoxingWeekOnl...

On ncix you can also hold a sale in your cart for a week after the sale ends and still buy it. This excludes surprise specials, but can go a long way to getting a good deal or shipping promo

Just a note- almost all of your links don't work.
I would pick up that 1tb caviar black from "future shop" its a great deal. The warranty should be the same because its through the manufacture.

To your question about the GSkill ram I am currently running both of those sets in my asrock z68 extreme4 with no issues, And I would reccomend the 6950 2GB find one with a bios switch and one day if your adventurous flash it to a 6970. I have a Sapphire flashed to 6970 and havent looked back. Its probably the best performance per dollar card out.
