Pc has good specs, but is slow at gaming?

Hey tomshardware.

I recently put together a new computer since this is newly built. And when I got Windows installed I decided to get some games.

Well when I tried out Battlefield 3 the frames were at 30-40 on average. I tried AC: Brotherhood frames were at 23 to 27 on average. I tried out Batman Arkham City and frames were 25 to 30.


It baffled me because I have

Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium.
AMD Phenom II X4 960T 3.0 Ghz
8 GB DDR3 1333 Mhz RAM.
650w PSU.
Radeon HD 6850.


As you can see I should be able to throw any game at it and be able to get 60+ frames. And Im not playing on Ultra or the max settings for the games either. I lowered all them down and the frames weren't anywhere near 60 when I lowered the settings.

This maybe driver issie. And set your power plan to high. You should get more than 60
fps. Try change your driver
