How to install RAM in this computer model?

Hi, I have an eMachines EL1852G-52W desktop computer.
I am thinking of upgrading my 3 GB of RAM to 4 GB.
However, the part of the motherboard holding the RAM modules is obstructed by some other compartment that I believe is holding either the hard drive or the power supply. (I am unable to upload an image of this right now.)
I can see one of the modules, but the other one seems to be deeper inside.
If anybody has ever tried changing the RAM for this computer model, do you know how to go through all this stuff so that I could safely upgrade my RAM?

Go to the page 28, you will you need take out the optical drive/HDD and then you can remove/install the RAM.
