Hey Guys,

recently i bought a GTX580, in preparation for BF3.
when BF3 came out the new Nvidia driver was released, which boosts performance by like 33% so basically the game is unplayable without this driver.

but for some odd reason, after i turn my pc off, then back on again, it BSOD's.
right after the windows logo has appeared.

ive done plenty of research on this issue, but am unable to find a solution.
But its only when the 285.62 or 280.** driver's are installed.

when it BSOD's
the screen shows a bunch of generic BSOD material than this:
Technical Infomation:
*** STOP: 0x00000116 (0xFFFFFA800A627010, 0xFFFFF880132469C8, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000002)
***nvlddmkm.sys - Address FFFFF880132469C8 base at FFFFF880130D1000, Datestamp 4e99233b

Currently im on my work computer, at work, and i should probably be doing work, but anyways.
from my research ive established it is to do with the Nvidia drivers.
i have driver sweept my computer for all Nvidia and ATI (i had an ATI 5870 before my GTX580) drivers, and then freshly installed the driver.
Is there anything obvious or that i have missed?

please help!?

BF3 Tech Support had my son roll back to the 285.38 drivers. Was better but there were still problems....including no SLI.

Then a follow up suggested that he remove Asus Smart Doctor or any other "performance enhancing software". Note that he did not have SmartDoctor doing anything. He had previously OC'd his two 560 Ti' cards to 1000+ MHz but had returned them to factory settings to assist in troubleshooting. Despite SD not being loaded, its mere presence was somehow borking BF3..... he uninstalled Afterburner and SmartDoctor and now no BSOD's and SLI working. Oh and he went back to 285.62 no problems

I Downloaded the drivers from the Palit website, and they are 280.26.. the language is international rather than english, and they work absolutely fine.. yet the English ones from the NVIDIA website dont?
