I have no idea what my motherboard is

I'm planning on upgrading my Gateway DX4840's video card (ATI Radeon HD 5450) to a Geforce GT 640.
I have no idea if that Video card is compatible with my motherboard or not.

According to Belarc Advisor, my "main circuit board" is Gateway DX4840. I don't think that's my motherboard. Is there a way to find out which motherboard I'm using, and if it's compatible with the Geforce GT 640?

Your motherboard has the PCIeX16 slot, and the GT640 only require minimum<400w PSU. I think it fit well with the Gateway DX4840.

After awhile, I decided that a Geforce GT 640 is too pricey and I'm not hardcore of a gamer, would a ATI Radeon 6670 1GB DDR be compatible with my motherboard?

Also, I'm clueless on how to upgrade computers, is it simple to do with the guidance of a tutorial, or would I have to contact a computer techician?
