Major graphic blurs and distortions while playing some games

THis all started one day when I started up a game I liked. When I actually got into the game, half the sky was missing, so I quit. I tried another game, with no luck. It seems to be that higher-quality games just make the graphics NASTY. I would give you a picture, but when I try it just takes a picture of the actual desktop, so oh well.
