I have PS 7 installed with two monitors, one showing the tools and the
other showing the picture only (no tools).
How can I switch with the mouse from one monitor to the other, i. e I want
to select a tool on one monitor and then use it on the other
picture-only-monitor.

If you have it setup correctly, your mouse should drag across both monitors
as if you had just one wide monitor, so anything you click on tools in one
monitor will effect the picture on the other monitor. Am I answering the
question?

BTW, whats your setup, are you doing 2x19" or 2x21" or something else?

Musty.

You have to go into "Display Properties" and check 'Extend my Windows
desktop onto this monitor'.

Yes you need to do the above, but only on the second Monitor (Tools).

While in Dispaly Properties, check that the little picture of the Monitors
shows them in the correct position relative to how they are placed
physically. "Identify" will put big numbers up on the screens, so you can
tell which is which.

The mouse pointer will just move across from one to the other, but
depending on the resolutions they are set to and their actual sizes, there
may be a sort of invisible gateway which limits where this can happen.
