Graphics card compatibilty thread, oh boy.

Are these two compatible? I am NOT using this system for gaming. I am doing 3D modeling in Autodesk Maya, and my current (terrible) card can't handle texturing at all. It handles the rest of the program beautifully however. I am terrible at figuring such physical conundrums out so I really appreciate the help from anyone. Also I know this isnt the best card, but right now my budget is under 200$ for a card, and I am not doing anything super heavy duty, so it seems it will suffice for the time being!

Hello, right now the gtx 460 or a 560 perfroms better than the quadro 600 in maya modeling. If you go with a 460 or a 560 you will have to get a newer power supply.

I agree with amuffin. If you are not doing massive maya everyday then go with a gaming card with as much ram as you can.

Also, the card you picked is a low profile card and will not likely fit your computer.

Ok. I don't do any gaming on my PC, only 3D modelling. My computer handles it great, but the texturing is the problem. I want a card specifically helpful for texturing, which is why i went for the Quadro line.

These cards perform better than the quadro cards in gaming and in texturing, 3d modeling, and gpu accelerated processes. Many fast cuda cores vs low amount of cuda cores at a slower clock rate. Most gaming cards perform better than the quadro cards anyway.
