a friend upgraded his power supply and graphics card and is now getting a system fan error....could this at all be the new power supply? or could it be a dead header...or just a bios option?

I apologize about the lack of info I was only able to speak to him briefly.

hp mobo
hd 6950
antec 750 psu

Has he connected his PSU to the GPU PCIe Power too? or has he forgotten to connect that?
Also, after he connected all the stuff into the rig, has he made sure that none of the cables are left unplugged on the mobo, especially the fan headers on that mobo. His CPU Fan must be connected to the CPU Fan header on the mobo and not the CHA Fan header on the Mobo.
Ask him and make sure he has done everything right, or ask him to double check.
If he can't figure it out, a few pics here would be a lot more helpful.

Problem solved. on the hp mobo u must have the system fan headers occupied in order to not receive the error message as the mobo reads the non occupied headers as not being able to cool itself.
