Windows shows 16GB (7.9Gb useable).

Tried all sorts but Windows will not read/use correct amount of RAM

HI,
Have you tried clearing the CMOS (unplug the power cord and remove the CMOS battery for few minutes)?
Is a single RAM module read correctly in all 4 slots?
