Fan grinding noise

I've just bought 3 new fans (Cooler Master 120mm) to replace some old loud ones. I got them due to their really low noise level. However I noticed immediately after turning them on a grinding noise. One of them makes extremely little noise, the other has a little more but not to an annoying level, but the third is a really loud grind. I know it isn't the blades making contact because if I manually stop the fan while it's running the noise continues. The noise from the grinding stays the same at any speed. Is there anything I can do?, I would prefer not to RMA it, but I'm pretty sure this is not normal.

There's probably something obstructing your fan - maybe a wire in the way. Try re-routing your cables and see what that does.
