All was going well on my first build until I got to installing the mobo into the case. I am having trouble lining it up with the standoffs. The I/O plate seems to be the culprit. I have made sure it has snapped in but the little metal tabs that I read are meant as a ground and to keep the I/O ports in line are doing the opposite. They are throwing it them out of line and seem to be keeping me from being able to line the mobo up. Is there a solution? Could I just bend the things back or cut them off?

My mobo is the ASUS M5A97 (the instructions don't help)

My case is the Cooler Master Elite 430 (those instructions don't help either)

A speedy response would be much appreciated thanks.

Update. I was able to get the mobo aligned with the standoffs but now the usb and other ports aren't lined up with the I/O plate and I can't plug anything into them...

Did you ever get the I/O plate to line up properly? I am having that same problem with same MB inside a Zalman Z9 case
