Hi, this is a pretty stupid question but I was wondering if a this RAM would work in a MOBO which only supports 1333MHz RAM (Max)

Ram I'm buying: Patriot Intel Extreme Masters 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-17000C11 2133MHz (The RAM is Dual-Channel)

What my MOBO says: ''Supports two unbuffered DIMM of 1.5 Volt DDR3 800/1066/1333 DRAM, 16GB Max''

Thanks,
Zipiffy! :)

Why are you buying expensive 2133 ram when your board doesn't even support it? The ram may work fine but only at 1333 and may require an overclock of the cpu to get there. I recommend generic 9-9-9-24 1.5v ddr3 rated at either 1333 or 1600 tops. But it's your money.

Then it sounds like it won't work unless you down clock the RAM massively .

I haven't bought it yet, also the Patriot Intel Extreme Masters 8GB is only 44.99 from my favorite online store, and the cheapest 1333MHz 4GBx2 is 49.99, so I was obviously more appealed to the cheaper yet better option.

Non the less , I appreciate your comment, looks like the cheapest option is to buy the 2133MHz and downclock it, buy 1GHz or buy a better motheboard for the full potential of the RAM

If the 2133 ram is less expensive, then try it. I've used patriot 1333 ram, and it worked fine.
