Building a new PC....Round 2....FIGHT!
I am absolutely disgusted with my Eyefinity set up not working. Also, my sister's laptop just took a nose dive and rather than spend a comparable amount of money on a new laptop that she uses as a desktop, she's offered to buy mine. I looked up its value and it's held its value extremely well and I can get quite a bit for it still despite it being over years old.
This is what I have currently:

I'll be keeping the keyboard, mouse, external hard drives, the monitors, and desk and chair.
I bought the parts and built this in October 2009. Without looking at receipts, I spent right around $2,000 for the PC itself. I know for sure that I spent just over $5,000 on the whole setup. PC, monitors, cables, desk, chair, external hard drives, peripherals, etc. etc. etc.
Obviously if I built a new PC, I wouldn't want to downgrade in any way. On a new build I'd like to make a couple changes that I know of off hand. I'd like to try out a solid state hard drive(s) for one.
Based on this information, can ya'll spec. me out a new gaming rig for about $2,000? I use the computer primarily for word processing and finance tracking and Internet surfing. But every so often I like to enjoy some first person shooter games. Hence the horsepower. I don't want to be lacking, to a degree, in my games!! Hehehe
Thanks for listenin'!
