Hi,

I have an old computer I'm currently using as my home PC. It has 1GB of DDR2 RAM and found some extra RAM laying around and put it in. It now sow up as 1536mb in CPU-Z however windows does not show it under system properties which I'm assuming means it does not recognize the extra RAM.

Any ideas why?

Just tried it, nope, the PC simply does not boot with just the 512MB RAM so obviously something is up with the stick itself.

Pfft, now my HDD is making a click-tak sound when starting up the PC lol. Tried to fix one thing, some how broke another. :D

i wiould check that 512 stick for the modules size some board wont work with low memory chip, for your drive i would use the maker test tool the clik sound could a advance of a falling drive .
