Fan and Heatsink for Phenom 2 X4 3.4GHZ??

Solution
Looks, Height, whatever.....

Dude. With the AMD Sockets.... Installation is a no-hassle, no-brainer cooler. All you do is thread the clamp bracket through the cooler. Just make sure you install the Fans AFTER the actual heatsink is installed.

I mean its about as tell as a noctua. But.... You have a 912.... Plenty of space. there isn't gonna be a mid-high end CPU cooler that isn't gonna be huge in your case. I got a Full tower and the thing still seems a little big but nothing compared to the space i was given. ANd before i had a enforcer.... The CM Storm Cousin to your 912.

The coolers mentioned above are great, but also tall, and require over 6 inches of space between the motherboard and your case side. Ididnt think the hyper 212 would quite fit in my case, so I bought a Zalman 9700. I now run about 28c when idle and dont go over 55c at full load with the fan on low. (it comes with a fan controller) Its about .5in shorter than the ones mentioned above

The cnps 10x gets good reviews also..and is shorter than a hyper 212 by about .25in

Thanks for the answers, I'll have to look in to these. I have the HAF 912 and it has a 9" width but would definately like something that isn't so tall. I hear that mounting some of these big cpu coolers can take an extra hand or two?

The Zalman 9700 was pretty easy to install on an AM3 board. You dont have to take the motherboard out of your case or anything

I still swear by Zalmans, the CNPS 11 extreme and 12 extreme are impressive coolers. Noctua DH14 and Thermalright Silverarrow are really good but don't fit into every case as well as they look stupid.

For closed loop cooling look at a Antec Kuhler 620 or 920 if you want to pay more.
