Motherboard and psu

would there be any problems with adding this psu CORSAIR Builder Series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 to this HP Pavilion p7-1414 Desktop PC mobo name MSI MS-7778 (Jasmine)

iv installed this battery correctly but once i powered it on it wouldn't start then i pulled out the cpu 4pinn cord out of the motherboard then the comp powered on and fans were moving but can boot up because of the cpu 4pin cord being disconnected any help would greatly appreciated because the battery started to do a lil spark with a smelly smell after i tried repeatedly pressing the power button when the 4 pin cpu was attached to the mobo
