So here's a build based on your needs :

    CPU & RAM: $354- i7 2600K & Corsair Vengeance (2x 4GB)

SSD: $185- Crucial m4 128Gb(most reliable ssd for this price range)

    BluRay Burner: $85- Sony Optiarc

Cpu Cooler: $30- CoolerMaster Hyper 212

    Motherboard: $130- Asrock Z68Gen3

    PSU: $130- Seasonic 850 80Plus Silver Certified

    GPU: 2X $340- EVGA Gtx 570 or
    2X $350- Sapphire Radeon 6970(both perform admirably)

    HDD: $125- Seagate Barracuda 1TB

Case: $80- Antec Nine Hundred(or whatever you want)

    Total(Excluding Rebates): 1800 USD

    Rebates: 10 USD

If you want you can put off plan for buying the gpus for later. AMD is expected to release 7000 series GPU in few months .They will be better than the present generation.
Same thing for Nvidia as well.
For now get a Radeon 6850,or 6870 save the money for later
