Is it worth to get the LGA 2011 compatible motherboard. Will older cpu work on a 2011 motherboard.

No, the only CPUs that fit LGA 2011 are i7s specifically only 4 versions of the i7, link below...

take note that there is also no reason to get 2011 unless you are doing some very high end workstation operations. gaming is perfectly statisfied with a i5 3570k or a i7 3770k if you are going to do some work along with gaming. the 3570k performs better than the x79 chips

it depends on your needs?older cpus?even s1155 dont support older cpus like 775!well LGA 2011 supports only i7 cpus like the 3930k or 990x!i am not sure about intels new cpus and their sockets so you should wait a bit!but cpus with lga 2011 are very powerful the only sure!i mean (POWER)
