LOOKING for an immediate UPGRADE: (reason *)

current: Athlonx2 2.7GHz, M2N68 PLUS, 2 Gb DDR2, ATI 4350 HD

My desire:
Games with max possible fps.
prefer intel over amd. (*)

can spend hardly 270$ (110$ selling current + 160$ invest)

OPTION #1: i3 2100 + H67 + 4350(doesnt make much sense as 4350 is comparable to IGP.)
so, i3 + H67 only n wait a month for gpu like 6770.

OPTION #2: current system + 6770 + 550W psu for 270-110=160$. //not prefer(*)

plz suggest any more options!

*:- my athlon often over heats and system gets off suddenly, now its OK bt in coming summer, its gonna trouble me again(as done previous two summers) hence selling it as soon as possible.

i3 2100 to i5 2400 : 60$ for 20fps gain as benchmarked with high end gpus.

i would rather save that and add 60 more to get 5770 in a month to play at max fps.(an i3 is enough with a 5770)

wel its a bit difficult to ignore an i5 and switch to i3, still saving every penny for GPU.

Why everybody is stuck an Intel. A good upgrade from that Athlonx2 2.7GHz and ddr2 , can be an Amd tri core with a cheap mobo , RAM , because no one didn't see @navZ88 need DDR3 on his new pc.
Here with 270$ you have all what you need :
MOBO : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157176
CPU : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103886
GPU : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131434
MEMORY : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231396
TOTAL : $265.96
And this is verry good upgrade from waht you have now.
If you have 12$ you can buy this quad core and you will have a good gaming pc : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103993

i appreciate ur suggestions bt do u know y i insist an i3 over AMD:

#1. i3 2100 doesn't lag by a fps in games than any AMD 2/4 cored CPU under no-OC. i3 is comparable to phenom II x4 980 BE.

#2. AMD is not very popular brand and so the shopkeepers dont advice. I dont prefer online deals.

#3. Abt 2.5yrs ago i did this purchase ( Athlonx2 2.7ghz , ... etc) and now it cannot run on stock cooler for 5 min.I m having a overheating cpu that can prepare a warm bucket of water for taking bath in an hour when its not idle. (not joking) ...............................idle temps are 53 C,(at same time for same environment i3: 28 C )...................Thats y donot faith on AMD anymore................

#4. Got a chance for selling current, so wanna get rid of this bullshit-AMD.

off course, any suggestions for i3 build r welcome...
