1333mhz vs 1600mhz ram

Should I get 8GB DDR3 1333mhz memory or 8GB DDR3 1600MHz for gaming? Will it make a noticeable difference? I know ram is cheap but based on where im from the prices make a big difference.

More about 1333mhz 1600mhz
  1. I read elsewhere that about 1200mhz-1600mhz would be a few fps difference in gaming so while a minor difference if you are playing a game that is very intensive could be beneficial
  2. Ok thanks very much for your response. Others will me much appreciated

    Whatever is cheaper because there is not much difference. http://www.anandtech.com/show/4503/sandy-bridge-memory-scaling-choosing-the-best-ddr3/6
  4. 1600CL9 or better for me depending if you have an I5 or faster...

    I3 = 1333, I5= 1600 and I7 = 1600+ if you really want the 5-10% more...
  5. I have a phenom x6 1045t that i will overclock to 3.5Ghz on saturday so what??
  6. since you have phenom
    so i will suggest you 1333mhz and low latency (try for cl5)

    because IMC of phenom cpus is very slow so it will be a bottleneck
    but phenom loves low latency rams

    (i too have 1600mhz rams but to get 12GB/s read speed and 15GB/s coppy speed i need to overclock my northbridge/imc to 3ghz (8 and 10GB/s at stock)
    and this ram speed is still slow as 2x1600mhz ram equates to ~25GB/s bandwidth thus it is very limited by IMC/north-bridge )

  7. it actually depends on your cpu!
