I'm looking to buy another graphics card to crossfire with a current HD 5870 that I have in the system now. Should I just get another 5870 or should I buy a different card? I have been looking for a 5870 online to buy, but can't find them anywhere. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Will

Hi Will,

The 5870 has been discontinued. You can try to pick one up off of Ebay, but since they are now rare, they are pretty expensive. You may be able to sell your card on ebay (since it is now scarce) for a good price and get a pair of something newer (6950s for example)

Blade, thank you very much for the quick reply. I think ill take a look at ebay and give your idea a shot. Are the 6950s an upgrade over the 5870's?

I think it would be better off selling your 5870 and get a pair of 6870. 6870 scales better than 5870 in crossfire and should end up cheaper than buying another 5870. Used ones are pretty cheap but I am not really a fan of used computer components.
But if I were you, I would wait until 7xxx series to come out.
