8gb of ram out 16gb is in "Hardware Reserved"

Hello, i currently bought a new motherboard, CPU and ram that i've checked into and all should work together however only 8gb of my ram is working but i checked on windows and in CPU-Z and it can see the ram installed however its placed in "hardware reserved"
any ideas?
