What is your favourite PSU brand?

It would be intesting to find out what people who have had more pc building experience than me consider the best brand.
I won't put Seasonic on as that would win

More about what favourite brand
  1. OCZ for balance of price and quality
  2. XFX all the way baby.
  3. I trust Corsair more than any others.
  4. Corsair all the way !!
  5. Hmm.

I've heard good things about the BeQuiet! brand...however never used em. XFX seems better than they used to be. Corsair is decent. Antec is definately one of the top ones though.

No love for PC Power and cooling?

Or Seasonic or Enermax or FSP or Superflower

OP mentioned he didn't bother with Seasonic.

    Enermax, FSP, superflower? LOL!

    +1 XFX all the way!

I said why I didnt put Seasonic and the other 3 didn't fit on the list
  10. FSP aren't too bad actually, the other two...

Enermax is one of the best PSU mfrs out there. FSP slipped up with the Everest line back in 2008, but it's Aurum Gold is an awesome PSU. Superflower's Green series PSUs are also oustanding. I would definitely put enermax at the top of the three I mentioned, but the other two are putting out some great price/performance PSUs right now.

Well I guess I haven't been reading much about those lately. The last time I saw an FSP and SF's PSU - both were toasted (at different times of course).
  13. Every mfr has a few bad apples leave the plant. ;) I think Enermax is a lot better known in the EU than the states, but they consistently make some awesome units.

You kind of did , XFX uses only Seasonic as thier oem.

I've used 6 of the brands mentioned
Going by what I've used the most of ; Antec
    Going by longevity ; Corsair
Oh damn, most of both were Seasonic inside
    Seasonic wins :kaola:
  15. Raidmax?
  16. I have never used anything but Antec power supplies, and I have never had a power supply fail me.

Reliability is the name of the game.
  17. i LOVE my corsair
  18. Big Corsair fan here...... although the others mentioned all have my respect as well.....Seasonic, XFX, Antec, OCZ, Enermax.....
  19. enermax, pcpc, superflower are all amazing. I stick with seasonic unless one of the others is at a great price
  20. The only brands I trust are Seasonic, Corsair, XFX, and Antec
  21. I only buy Seasonic and Antec (some Seasonic, some Delta). I've put a lot of 380W Earthwatts out there, and none have failed. My primary PC has a Seasonic X-560 in it, but the "best" PSU I have is an Antec SG-650.
I'd use Corsair or XFX (most are Seasonic-built), and Enermax is also good; so are the new FSP and Super Flower-built units (e.g. Rosewill, NZXT).
  22. I'd say Corsair, seasonic and XFX are the absolute best, but OCZ is definitely the best value for money, got a ZS 750w and it works v-nice.
  23. Antec HCG series  <3
  24. my past PC purchases

    PC Power & Cooling
    Corsair
    Antec
    Antec
    PC Power & Cooling
    Antec
    Corsair

frankly brand matters little to me as long as the price is good and the unit is reliable based on trusted review sites

enermax builds very good PSU which is more then I can say for some of these brands that just stick their sticker on the same seasonic platform everyone else has and then calls themselves a leader in the PSU field.

  26. Never had a thermaltake fail, nor one of their fans for that matter, 5+ years on a cooler, currently on 24/7 htpc.

Currently running OCZ 1200W. was on sale, $50 cheaper than the TT.

i beleive BeQuiet uses FSP but i always see them well reviewed in european web sites
  28. PC Power and cooling
  29. I voted for Antec because Enermax and SuperFlower were not on the list.
  30. I like Corsair and use them in all my systems. Antec is close second, I like to pair their power supplies to their cases.
  31. Why the heck is Seasonic not on there? They make all the ones for Antec, Corsair and XFX at least

    Why not Enermax?

    Made by Seasonic :P
  33. Enermax, Silverstone, PC Power & Cooling, your list is seriously incomplete!
  34. Too bad Corsair (TX, HX, AX line) and XFX's are made by Seasonic..

Of the 11 currently available unit's in the TX line only 4 are Seasonic built
Only 1 of the 4 currently available HX series unit's is Seasonic built

You sure? I know the TX v1's are made by someone else, but I thought the V2's are made by SS, the HX line, and the AX line (not 1200)

    Yes
There are many tools available, you just have to look for them, usually in the stickies at the top of the forum

Shhhhh dont tell anyone about that archive. Some of us won't look like such experts anymore when we know who makes every power supply! lol
  39. Voted for seasonic.

Saw that page before, all the TX v2's are Seasonic?
  41. Why no PC Power & Cooling?
  42. Don't Delta manufacture some Corsair PSU's as I'm not really a fan of delta
  43. OEMs for Corsair are Seasonic, CWT, and Flextronics (only one made by Flex).
  44. Seasonic doesn't make the entire thing and just ship it to them do they? I thought they made the "core" and then the other manufacturers did the soldering and assembly, etc.?

LOL someone voted for Coolermaster FTW.
  45. Must like explosions...

    Yes they do.

No they don't. For instance, how can Corsair 'construction' anything when they don't have any factories.
  47. The Xigamatek 500w psu I had was alot better than than corsair 500w builder series. But I think that may be the only good Xigmatek and one of the only bad Corsair ones. My cousin just bought a £70 Mushkin power supply and I thought he was stupid but, it is very very good. So, if I'm honest all the brands have there good psu's and bad psu's (usually) but, I'd always play it safe when buying my psu's. Would never buy a Alpine or a Coolmax or Coolermaster (cm make nice cases though.)

seasonic makes them, the brands distribute them into sales channels. brands like corsair, antec, OCZ, etc., don't own factories. this practice is done with many PC hardware parts including many video cards, cases, and fans. which is why its funny when one fan boy argues for one brand over another, many times the part is the exact same.
  49. most of the "quality power supplies"(corsair or nzxt) are rebranded seasonic and super flower units.XFX is best IMO because they sell high quality and good looking units for a reasonable price tag.
