SMS vCards to TDMA work but not to GSM? Are they different..

I've written a web interface to take information for a contact,
convert it to a vCard and then encode the vCard to an SMS Message,
send that message to a TDMA cell phone via AT&T.

Now I have a GSM phone and I cant get the SMS message to the GSM
Phone. I get the Raw SCKL message. Is there a different encoding for
GSM?
