How companies flash firmware on motherboard?
I have been always interested how they do that?
I mean they have a bunch of metal then they apply the firmware on it.

On servers for example you would boot from a DVD and run a firmware upgrade from that. You can also upgrade some firmware when the operating system is running, depends on the manufacturer and o/s

Have a look at this guide from HP (especially Page9)

most vendors would use a chip programer. drop the bios info onto a flash rom from a programing station where they would do 30 or 40 chips at once.
