I've been a laptop user for a long time, I just started to gather components for desktop. I'd like to hear your suggestions on choosing a graphic card. my main purpose is to be able to play most of the latest FPS games on max. configs as much as possible. there is not really a budget issue but, I wouldn't like to pass over 600€.
Thanks. :hello:

My system is;
asus p8p67 pro
intel i7 2600
2x4GB 1600mhz cl7
corsair TX 850W
CM haf X case

what resolution is the screen you plan to use? would you consider crossfire/SLI or would you like to stick to a single card?

Are you going to be using this computer for anything other than gaming and internet browsing?

I would suggest going for something like a GTX580.That is the most powerful single GPU card on the market as of now.But to play games such as BF3 you will need another for SLI to play on the highest of settings and maintain good fps.

Mainly for gaming yes, also for coding but it is not that hardcore yet.

hmm I understand, with which cards you would suggest to crossfire ?

in that case i would go for gtx 580 or hd6970. if you want to save some money you could get a 2gb 6950 and unlock it to effectively be a 6970. you can always add another card down the road if you want a boost in performance
