Sound stopped coming out of my headset

Hello,
This is the second time I installed a x360 wireless receiver for a controller. After restarting my razer megalodon stops working. Sound comes out of the speakers but when nothing out of my headset. anyone know a way around this? or whats causing it to do this?

it seems to be that sound is now playing through the onboard realtek ouptut.

if your trying to get sound out of both, your probaly SOL

system restore is my only solution. but when i go to install again it happens again. seems to have something to do with directx
