Hi everyone!

My Asus P8P67 Pro can't boot anymore *, so I'm urgently looking for a new MB.
My hardware: i7-2600k (multiplier OC @ 4.3Ghz), MSI R6870 Hawk (I won't do dual videocards in the future).

- What kind of alternatives do I have? Should I look for a P67 or Z68 card, or is it worthwhile to go to Z77?
- Will I run into problems with the UEFI-boot systems with my Win 7 when I just swap mobo?

What I liked about this mobo was that it had integrated Firewire. It seems that you can't find a decent (sub 160$) Z77 card with Firewire now?

(*):
If only the 24 pin EATXPWR connector is connected, there is some action on the MB: case leds are going, cpu fan is spinning.
When I then also put the 2x4 EATX12V connector on, nothing happens anymore, totally dead.

Measured with a multimeter on the 24 pin connectors (15&16 shorted), but no power at all if the 12 pin connector is on the mobo.

Same thing with a second PSU.

The only thing I haven't tried (but I think is unlikely to cause failure) is take the videocard out.

Id say buy the same exact mobo but go for the z77.

"Will I run into problems with the UEFI-boot systems with my Win 7 when I just swap mobo? "
IDK about that, just one way to find out
