Beefy enough for DVD ripping + video editing?

Hello,

A friend of mine wanted to double-check that the following items will be enough to build a cheap PC just to browse the web, rip DVDs, and perform some light video editing (eg. VirtualDub):

- CPU: AMD Athlon II X3 445 (3,1GHz)
- Mobo: ASUS M5A78L-M LX
- RAM : Kingston HyperX Blu DDR3-1333 CL9 4Go (2x2GB)
- Video card: ASUS Radeon EAH5450 Silent DI 1GD3
- PSU: CORSAIR 430W CMPSU-430CXV2

Thank you.

  1. It'll get the job done, but how fast is another question all together.
  2. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103951

Or better probably performs better than the above with less power for less money, unless he already has parts/found a deal.

*would need a different motherboard too, FM1 socket
  3. Thanks for the feedback. I'll tell her about that mobo.
