Radeon 6770 Lag Issues

My trusty NVidia 9800gt recently died, so I went and bought a Radeon 6770. I reformatted my hard drive after the old card was out and loaded up all of the Radeon driver software, but now my machine is lagging while running things that my old 9800gt ran like a dream. Graphics heavy parts of games are causing huge lag....which, in turn, causes me to die more than i'd like (first world problems, eh?).

Here are the specs:
GIGABYTE GA-MA770T-UD3P AM3 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard
AMD Phenom II X3 710 2.6GHz Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Processor
8 gigs of DDR3 ram
200+ gigs of disk space

Any thoughts?

uninstall the driver and install a different version. your system can handle that card with out problems. i have that cards twin the 5770 and it has had similar problems with a few driver versions.

i will give that a try and let you know if it helps.

Radeon 6770 requires more watt then 9800gt, so check your PSU if drivers won;t work..

PSU should be fine. it's a bit older, but it's giving me 100 more watts than i need for the card.
