So i have this brand new rig, but what is strange, is that my Cpu cooler doesn't transform heat off the cpu?
I have thermal paste aplied.
It's idling at about 40C, but in prime it rises to ~85C which is bad....
The heatsinks seem to stay all cool and thats very strange?
And this all is on stock clocks/volts.
Any help?
Or do i just have to wait for the thermal paste to apply?

Thanks in advance.

artic silver does take a bit of time to cure

but it only drops a few degrees

your temps are way too high as thats a reasonably good cooler--so unless its very hot where you are

either you used far too much paste or you havent mounted the cooler properly

would expect 30c or under on idle depending how hot your room is

My ambient temp is 20-21C and it starts at 25C but then just starts rising, as if heatsinks were not transisting heat?
And if i put my hand on the copper pipes, they're not very hot..
I don't have much other cooling but my cases open so air freely goes out/ comes in.

Anyway i'll try to reinstall the cooler - see if that helps...

Thanks for the help!
Also i feel a bit embarassed now, as the problem was a screw of wrong size.... :O
So The heatsink was not properly fit to the CPU.
I hope i haven't done any damage to it (max temp 85C for a short time though)
:D
Now prime shows 55C on full load , time to OC
