ok so i have these two graphics cards, a gtx260 from a cg5290 asus computer, and a gtx260 store bought.
ok this is what i got"

  • Windows 7 ultimate 64bit
  • 11 gig of ddr3 ram
  • intel i7 cpu 920 2.67ghz
  • i have 750w sli certified psu
  • brand spanking new msi -x85m mobo, also sli certified

  • i read both of these will do just fine in sli. but the option just does not come up, i have tried multiple things, from reinstalling the drivers with both cards in, to doing it with each card alone. i re installed windows. swapped out sli bridges (have three of them)

please someone help this has been making me nuts for a very very long time

I'm not entirely sure of this but judging from the GPU-Z images, is it possible the cards arent SLi'ing because they have different amounts of Unified Shaders? Or does the 216 version scale its shaders down to the 192 model in order to SLi? That could possibly be why you aren't seeing the SLi option but I could be wrong.

i have read that you can use both of these even though one is 192 and the other is 216

i don't have a sli or crossfire with me but please go head double check the sli bridge.
and other option is open ticket to nvidia and ask them for help.
