Hey guys,
Im looking to get a new GPU soon. Was wondering which is the highest performance GPU that would run with my PSU.

My config is as follows:

AMD Athlon II X4 630
MSI 785gm-e51
Corsair 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz
2 HDD (500+160)GB
NZXT Gamma
Seasonic ss 500-es 500W PSU

Can I run a HD6950 safely? Thanks :))

If you want to objectively, accurately and scientifically determine what PSU power is required for your Vid card and PC in both watts and 12v rail amps., the forum Utility link below will show you how easy it is to calculate this information and objectively determine which PSUs are quality built, reliable PSUs that can meet your needs. Be advised that the available 12v rail amps. is just as important as the total PSU wattage. You need both to be correct.

The 6950 will be ok. AMD recommends 500w so ppl can use a 500w cheapo PSU and not fry the card. This saves AMD's butt by making the recommended wattage higher then is really needed.

A 6950 only draws about 200-225w at load. (quick google search will show you that.)

Your PSU is good quality so it will be fine....get it!

Edit: Heck my guess was even high....here a review it takes less then 200w at load if you don't unlock it. Your 500x PSU will still have headroom with your setup.
