Need help with building first comp

I'm in the process of my first build (just researching atm). main purpose is gaming. all i have is a mouse and headset, as im upgrading from my lappy.

dell studio 15
t6500 2.1ghz
4g ram

Approximate Purchase Date: no rush

Budget Range: 1500-1800

System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming (LoL, starwars:the old republic,bf2, skyrim)
Parts Not Required: mouse

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: neweeg.com or amazon.com
Country: US

Parts Preferences: have no preferences as im am new and dont know a whole hell of a lot. just something reliable and will last

Overclocking: Yes

SLI or Crossfire: again i have no idea

Monitor Resolution: what will fit in budget

Additional Comments: need everything from case to monitor.

processor- intel core i7-960 3.2 ghz... $289.99 amazon

video card- xfx amd radeon hd 6870 900m 1g ddr5 dual minidp hdmi dual dvi pce-e (not sure what most of this means to be honest)... $179.99 amazon

hard drive1- intel 510 series 120gb version3 2.5in ssd... $275.00 amazon

hard drive2- western digital caviar black 500gb sata III 7200 rpm 32mb cache internal desktop hard drive bulk/oem (again not really sure what some of this means)... 108.99 amazon

total: 854.96 (not including tax)
budget: 1800.00 (max)
left: 945.04

thats it so far. have checked prices n newegg yet. let me know how this sounds.
