Asus m5a99fx pro r2 0 doesnt use my other 4gb why?

Hello,
I have ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard and i bought Patriot Memory - G2 Series 4GB PC3-10666 DDR3 Desktop Memory and i have windows 7 installed but my problem is that i have 8gb of RAM installed and recognize it but only 4gb are usable?

Why can someone help me out so I can be able to use it?

Do you have 2 kits installed of http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220571 or only one kit?

2x4gb for a total of 8gb

If the kit is labeled as G2 Series 4GB PC3-10666 DDR3, then the total amount is 4GB (2x2).
Try installing CPU-Z and see what it does report regarding memory.
