Hi all, I was wondering what is going on with amd in the future. I heard that they will not continue creating CPUs? and go with the APUs all the way? Why would that be a reason? Why not release a AM4 and put PCIe 3 on it and polish it a bit.
Isnt the newest apu they have weaker than the FX 8350 anyway? So they kinda taking a step backward not forward.

I have a AMD build but my next going to have to be INTEL because as it seems AMD is going to stop making CPUs or is this not true? any opinions or facts guys?

Over the years, more and more of the computer's functions have been absorbed into the chip. The current APUs seem to all be built off the Athlon II. I imagine the future is a chip like the 8350 with integrated graphics. No one says you can't still put a fancy video card in.

Intel makes chips with integrated graphics too, they just don't call them APU's. It's basically a marketing term.
