Installing gigabyte ati radeon hd 4650

Hello, I have just bought the ATI Radeon HD 4650 AGP card, and I am using an Intel S875WP1-E motherboard that has built-in ATI RAGE XL PCI graphics. I am running Windows XP SP3. I've tried using the instructions for installing the new card, but they seem to be utterly useless, so I've come to the web. No matter what I try, I cannot get the computer to load graphics through the card, even after disabling the on-board graphics and uninstalling the drivers for it. Yes, I have my monitor hooked up to the D-Sub connection on the card itself. My system seems to show that the card and its drivers are properly installed, but when I restart my computer, it will BSOD and say that one of the start-up files for the card will get caught in an infinite loop. Does anyone have any advice?

  1. You should uninstall all the old graphic drivers as it conflicts with the new drivers and install the latest graphics for the card. It is only a driver issue if the graphic card is working fine.
