do i need to buy something to connect with xbox live through wireless connection? why wont it connect??

You're in the wrong section, and do you have the old Xbox 360 or the new Xbox 360 Slim? If you have the original Xbox 360 then you need a wireless adapter, and if you have a that or have a slim then you'll need to open some ports on your router. I forget which ports though...
